What Circulation Accounts is for

Circulation Accounts maintains the financial Account associated with an Agent or Circulation Customer.

Bills, Receipts, Credit/Debit Notes, Opening Balance, Ledgers and Agent Exit can depend on Account identity.

Find and open an Account

Open Circulation -> Accounts.

Search, sort and page by Account, party, Edition Center, Balance, Deposit and related display information, then click the row.

Create an Account

Choose Create and enter Account Name, Account Type and the Agent or Circulation Customer.

Module is Circulation and financial values begin read-only.

Account Type and party identity

Account Type is Agent or Customer.

Changing Account Type while creating clears the previously selected party.

After Account creation, Account Type and the linked party are read-only to preserve financial identity.

Agent / Customer source

Agent Accounts use the Circulation Agent source and allow Open to inspect the Agent.

Customer Accounts use the Circulation Customer source and allow Open to inspect the Customer.

Customer Quick Create is not offered here because Circulation Customer Create already creates its required Customer Account.

Module

Module is read-only Circulation, using module code CIC.

A Circulation Account is not reassigned to another module from this screen.

Balance, Deposit and Deposit Date

Balance is read-only financial information; corrections belong to governed Opening Balance and posting flows.

Deposit is read-only. Agent Deposit processing synchronizes the Agent Account net deposit value.

Deposit Date is read-only Account metadata and manual Account Create leaves it blank.

Save and Close

Save validates the Account and opens confirmation. Cancel closes the dialog without saving.

Create Confirm creates a zero-balance/zero-deposit Account after party and duplicate checks.

Edit Confirm updates Account Name while preserving Account Type, party and Module.

Close returns to Accounts without running Save.

Actions menu

The current Circulation Account Details screen has no three-dot Actions menu.

Delete an Account

Select Account(s) from the list, choose Delete and review Confirm Delete.

Cancel closes the dialog with no change.

Confirm protects Accounts with Ledger, Account Transaction, Opening Balance, Agent Exit Settlement, non-zero Balance or non-zero Deposit.

Account Delete never removes Account Transactions just to make deletion succeed.

Customer Account lifecycle

A Customer Account cannot be independently deleted while the Circulation Customer exists.

Use Circulation Customers for atomic cleanup of a genuinely unused Customer and unused Account; otherwise use Customer Inactive.

Agent Account lifecycle

An Account linked to an existing Agent can be deleted only for an Inactive Agent with no tracked operational or financial history.

Active and Exited Agent Accounts remain protected.

Downstream financial effect

Agent Bill and Receipt posting resolves the Agent Account, while Customer Receipt posting resolves the Customer Account.

Opening Balance, Account Transactions and Ledger entries use the Account ID.

Agent Deposit processing synchronizes Account Deposit, and Agent Exit uses Account financial values for settlement.
